Bigger and Better

St. Claire Healthcare

St. Claire opened its doors as a general acute care hospital in 1963. By offering incredible care and being a staple of the community they have grown their offerings and scale to the note of being the largest employer in the region. Recently they officially rebranded as an integrated health system which radically changes how they operate from a single location to a region-wide network of clinics.

Part of announcing this transition was with the launch of the website we were tasked to build. A singular digital front door that represents every location simultaneously. Now, as a united front, they can list their services and providers as a full network and the community can explore the full benefit of St. Claire’s care all at once.

A unique characteristic to this project was that the primary source of ‘branding’ was the logo alone. We needed to craft this website nearly without reference. We aimed for a delicate balance that would allow them to look as large and equipped as a network in the big cities while also instilling a sense of place and belonging to locals who arrive on the website. The modular approach and strong typography give it a backbone that will stand the test of time and photography choices connect deeply with community members.

St. Claire loved the approach and approved the full sites design in the first round of review. This helped us cut a large portion of time out of the project and set up our relationship for success.
